Donation form API?

Options
Hi all,

I'm fairly well-versed in Luminate Online, but not so much in NetCommunity. I recently started working with a new client, and they're NetCommunity clients. We're building a new WordPress website for them, and I'm trying to figure out if we can integrate the donation form directly into their website rather than sending the visitor to a separate portal. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

  • Your best route would be to build what you are doing in WP directly in BBNC. BBNC (any version) can be the whole CMS for a website, and is in many cases.

However, if you wish to simply have form pages on BBNC, they cannot be framed into external resources without security risks.  It is possible functionally - see common form on right rail of https://support.thesourceforwomen.org/medical-professionals/.  But for donation forms, I would not recommend it.  If you do so, create a 'blank' layout, template, and page in BBNC. Add the form to this page. Then frame it into your WP page.

As an FYI - If that is all BBNC will be used for with this client, it would be much simpler and cost-effective to exchange BBNC for Online Express, which provides embeddable widgets for donation/event/email/membership forms into any CMS.
  • Thanks! I think their BB expert has left the organization so just trying to help them get a handle on the product and what they are paying for vs. what they are using. We're committed to WordPress, at least for now, but this is helpful information.
  • Hello Lindsi,

This integration is possible - however you will need to enable CORS authentication for the site. I have a working example on my local server and I was able to securely make a transaction. The "security" issues are only if "Allow all" is enabled for headers. If you authenticate the Wordpress, you will be fine. If you don't know how to set up CORS auth, I can assist with some basic info. Feel free to contact me @ mail@chrismcgrane.com

    Thanks,

  • Thanks Chris! I think we're just going to style the BB page/form to look like the WordPress site, so it's still secure but invisible to the user. So appreciate the help!
  • That's always an option as well. There should be no security risks with frame implementation if you find that mimicing the Wordpress design is tedious. Also, I wrote a plugin to generate a NC user upon Wordpress user registration. Let me know if that would be helpful.

  • Interesting! That could be helpful, although I'm not sure how yet. I'll loop back in once the project is further along. So appreciate the help!
