Ability to alter "Add the data to RE" in messages

Options
I like the idea of Online Express updating records in RE, but we use packages instead of appeals for our messages. I don't really want to add each message as an appeal.  Is there a way to add the RE constiuent ID to the export information (Entire List), so that I can create a query and keep our current standard of using packages?  I'd like to be able to add "opened" "opt-out" etc to response, which is in the export.  Or perhaps the option to change the appeal information when clicking on "Add the data to RE" button.

  • I'm not sure I understand how you would add a package without adding an appeal...

I would like the ability to change or set the Appeal ID before pushing that data over and I have voted for a few ideas around this topic, just haven't had time to follow up on them in the Idea Bank.

It sounds like you could push the data over, allowing OLX to create Appeal records, then export that data with ConstID & Response (and whatever else you want) and then Globally Delete the Appeal, if you don't want it to remain in your database.
  • That's what I do, as I want actions to appear for emails sent.
  • Hi – you can change the appeal information after clicking on "Add the data to RE" button by opening the appeal and typing over the ID and/or Description and it will update that change in all records that carry that appeal.

Jennifer’s suggestion to “push the data over, allowing OLX to create Appeal records, then export that data with ConstID & Response (and whatever else you want) and then Globally Delete the Appeal, if you don't want it to remain in your database.” I also suggest doing the same, but exporting out the Import ID so that you can import anything else you need, to add to other fields in the records who received that particular E-Blast.

  • correction: I meant to add that Jennifer's suggestion to... was what I'd do too. Sorry for not completing that thought before typing the rest of the paragraph!
  • Sorry, I misspoke when i said that I only add packages.  Of course this can't be done without an appeal.  What i meant to say is that i add a new package within an existing appeal when we send out an e-alert.  What i am trying to avoid is adding a new appeal with each appeal.  You all have given me some great ideas on how to do this!  Thanks so much.
  • *What I am trying to do is to avoid adding a new appeal with each e-alert.
