In combination with The Raiser's Edge database, Blackbaud uses Microsoft MapPoint as their geographic mapping software. Is Blackbaud in the process of building their own 'in-house' geographical mapping software or will a new software tool have to supplement The Raiser's Edge? Microsoft will no longer be supporting MapPoint. MapPoint is not compatible with Windows 8, though you can force the compatibility. With many users moving to Windows 10 next year, I would like to know what the geographical mapping options are. Thanks!

If you look for MapPoint it suggests using Excel's PowerMap. Just sayin' Don't know if you have looked or are just looking for other input on mapping tools.

We are looking at an Omatic tool called RecordRadar.

In July 2014 Microsoft announced plans to end support of MapPoint on 12/31/2014.

Microsoft MapPoint is used with The Raiser's Edge to generate constituent maps and is supported by Blackbaud Product Support.

Blackbaud will continue to support MapPoint within the Raiser's Edge at this time.

Hilda, We have used RecordRadar for years and love it. Love that you can create queries directly from it. Great company and customer service. We often use this tool in conjunction with http://batchgeo.com/ for our mapping purposes. Cheers, Elizabeth

Brandon, RecordRadar is a Raiser's Edge plugin that finds constituents in the radius of a zip code and is used by many universities and schools for alumni groups, events, etc. It's integrated with the Raiser's Edge, available in the Blackbaud Hosting Environment, and has many settings that leverage built-in RE7 functionality.
