Opt Out issues.

Options
Someone told me they opted out of my email list, but the list still shows that they haven't opted out. I have asked for them to send me the email that i sent them, but they haven't responded. How can I opt out someone without having access to that email? I don't want to be at risk of non-compliance to email laws.

    1) What type of list is this?


    2) Where did you look to confirm they were not opted out?

  • 1) It was an imported list. Our team imported this list before I began working here.


    2) I was able to confirm that he is on the "not opted out" section.

    Where is the not opted out section for you? Are you looking under Email, Lists; Email, Messages; or somewhere else?

  • I did Email --> Lists --> Click on the pencil associated with the list --> View List



    from there I searched for the individual and they appeared when the filter was marked "Not Opted Out"

    Can you done the manual refresh list on the list properties tab? If they still show not opted out at that point, then you're right. They didn't opt out. We should make sure we remove their email from whatever source you pulled that list from, then upload a CSV without them to remove them. If you can get them to forward an email they received to you, you can click unsubscribe and opt them out as well.
