How do I restrict registrants for a event?

Options
Hi,

We run events that often have different prices for members and non-members. However we canot seem to enable any options that restrict non-members from buying tickets at the members price? Is there some way of tying the event registration form into the database so membership status can be checked?

  • Hello Mark,

We do have the option of setting up Targeted Content on the page, which contains a member Event Form, and a public Event Form. When a member is logged in, as long as they are a part of a Member Role in NetCommunity, they would see the Event Form with the discounted price. Any person visiting the NetCommunity site who is not a member, will see the Event Form with regular pricing.

I am including a link to our Parts Guide, which has information on the Targeted Content Part. https://www.blackbaud.com/files/suppo... The section begins on page 153.

  • Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for the reply and the link - I will have a look.

One further query... Is there an admin setting which forces people to register before buying tickets? Or is that a default setting anyway?
  • Mark,

You can force users to register for the site by adding Targeting and Security to the page containing the Event Form. This will show the login page to anyone attempting to access the form, prompting them to either log in to the site, or create a profile.
