  • Hello Lisa!

You can link the NetCommunity user account to a Raiser's Edge constituent record by doing the following:

    1. Log into Blackbaud NetCommunity using an account with supervisor rights.

    2. In the top admin bar, click on Users & Security > Users

    3. Search for the affected user and click the pencil icon to Edit the record

    4. Delete the record by clicking on the red X

    5. Click OK at the prompt asking if you are sure. You are returned to the Users Gallery.

    6. Mark the Deleted checkbox next to the Search button and click Search; the user you just deleted will appear in the results.

    7. Click the pencil icon to edit the record a second time

    8. Click the Undelete and generate a signup transaction link

This will automatically send a sign-up transaction into The Raiser's Edge

You can now process the Sign Up Request in the Raiser's Edge, and link to the constituent record.

  • Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for your quick reply, sorry I want to link the user to the Education Edge, for some users created before, they have a link to the EE, but when I create new user, I can't link to the EE record, do you know how to link the OCC account with Education Edge?

When Education Edge is involved the users should really begin there. They will be added to OCC via the Add user to NetCommunity utility found in the NetCommunity plugin in EE.

If the user is integrated with RE before the utiltiy is run to add the user then all 3 databases will be linked. If the utility is run before Integration then it will need to be run again to refresh the OCC account with the RE information.

If the user is already created in OCC and we need to connect everything up we have some setup we need to do.

    1. Make sure the EE and RE record are integrated

    2. Make sure the UserID in EE (FAWeb or NetClassroom username) matches the already created record in OCC

    3. Run the Add users to NetCommunity utility in EE for a query of the records that need to be linked

    4. The process will fail, and this is expected. It will fail because we forced the usernames to be the same and it recognizes that the account already exists in OCC

    5. Click the View Failed Records button. This will open a grid will all the records that failed to upload. You should see the accounts listed here. To link the records, mark the Link checkbox and click Process.

Since we were integrated (EE and RE) when we link the EE record to the OCC record all 3 sides will be connected. It is a bit of a dance that has to be done when the records begin in OCC but it is very doable. I would definitely suggest that the records be managed in the EE database and moved to the site when the person needs access.

    Hope that helps!
  • Hi Anthony,

I check in EE NetCommunity, there is no place to add user to OCC, and I check the query, the parent is in the Netcommunity Query list, her child status is incoming, but because her OCC account is not link with EE, so when she log into OCC, she can't do the online form, will show that there is no active student link with her, please check the pic I attached, really appreciate your help.

Only supervisor accounts in EE will have the option to add users to NetCommunity. That seems to be the only step missing here.
  • Hi Anthony,

I am the supervisor account in Education Edge, any other suggest?

Is that possible the plug-in version problem?
  • Thanks Anthony, thanks I fixed the problem.
  • I'm not sure how many orgs are using member log-ins, but I feel that having to delete and undelete a record, just to generate the sign-up, is too cumbersome.  We should either have "Link to RE" right in the user window, or have the ability to create users in the NetCommunity plugin.  We should also be able to take an RE query, and make all constituents BBNC users.
