Is there a way to make changes to the website without making it live?

I'm wanting to make some change to our website and to send a link to a donor for them to approve. Is there a way to do this without having the site live with updated content?

  • So you can copy the main page you want to work on and call it a test page or something and do it that way.

Or you could use, for example, Google Chrome's developer tools (hit F12), and tweak your site as if it were live editing then take a screenshot of it (windows snipping tool or hit the PrtScrn (print screen) button.
  • Two options:

    1. As Jesse noted, copy your page and part, and send the 'test' link that is not connected on your site to your donor for review.

    2. Setup a sample login/user for the donor, apply on a page level (properties) for him/her to edit the page (but no parts will be editable). Then open your formatted text part, click the content approval tab, and change status to Draft. Make your edits and save. Send donor the page edit mode link with login/pw. He/She will be able to see the draft version of your page without editing or seeing any other pages in edit mode. When ready, click content approval tab and Publish.
