Additional merge fields for event confirmation emails?

Is it possible to add additional merge fields (such as benefit amount) to event confirmation emails? I see how to do it for regular OLX emails, but not for these.

    Hi Tricia. You can add merge fields on the "Thank yous" step by selecting "Insert" then the "Merge fields" option at the top of the text editor. The merge field list does not include the benefit amount currently, but we do plan to add more merge fields to this list over time.



    Do you have any other particular fields you are looking for that aren't yet available?
  • Thanks Matt-I had found the merge fields, but they are minimal. What we want is for the confirmation email to also act as the receipt, so receipt amount and benefit amount would be very helpful.



    We used RegOnLine for many years and just switched over to OLX. It's got some good points, but it's pretty primitive and not having any real training available means that there was a huge learning curve. If you're planning on training or product enhancements in the next few years, I'd like to offer myself up as a beta tester.



    One thing I'd like to see is some conditional logic so that there are separate pathways for participants as opposed to sponsors. Also building in some standard event attributes such as shirt sizes would be really helpful, and I'd also like to suggest some standardized reporting that is actually usable.

    Hi Tricia. Thanks for the feedback. The Registration details merge field does provide information for the donor to see the summary of what was paid. We also recently added the ability to include an eReceipt which satisfies tax regulations. You can set that up from the Account menu.



    As for participant attributes, take a look at the "Field options" step. You can add any attributes you have set up in RE - things like shirt size, meal preference, etc.



    Have you had a chance to attend any of the webinars for Online Express? If not, I'd be glad to get you that information.

    To configure eReceipts, first select "Receipt options" from the Account menu, and complete the necessary information there. You will only have to set this up once, and you can make changes at any time.



    Next, enable receipts on the first step of the form setup - there should be a check box at the bottom of the first setup step.



    After that, simply add the "eReceipt link" merge field to the confirmation screen and receipt email where you would like them.
  • There are alot of merge field we need adding to all e coms, particilary Con_ID which we use as a idetifier and event name to general OLX comms.

    We use the Benefits information for all of our events to communicate the benefits the donors receive. Any additional merge fields that can be added to the email confirmation just like when we create a hard copy acknowledgment would make sense for this. 

  • Can gift type be a merged field? We have donors that are choosing to donate or pledge for the same campaign and we want the language of our email thank you to reflect their choice.
