If we use the same query for a second e-blast, will those who opted out the first time receive the e-blast with the second mailing?

  • Hi Joanne - Great question - once someone opts out of an Online Express email that email address will never be sent another email again even if it is in other queries that you use. Yay!
  • I'm not so sure that gets a 'Yay' from us. We use e-blasts for solicitation, but we also use it for news. If someone opts out because we solicited them, then they won't receive news from us either. Not good. Is there a way to not have the opt out option in the e-blasts?

Hi Joanne. The behavior you describe would be against CAN-SPAM compliance laws. If a user unsubscribes from mass email communications, you must respect that regardless of content type.

That said, we are looking into adding subscription preferences in addition to a general unsubscribe. This would let users choose to either unsubscribe from only newsletters, in addition to a global unsubscribe (which is required by law).

    Interesting. Thanks Matt.

    Matt-

Any update on this, regarding subscription preferences?

    Thanks
