Proposal Status on Dashboard

There is a glitch on this particular panel (Proposal Status Panel). If the programmers could fix it, it could help with reporting real-time to our Executive Director.

The problem is that the columns offer the choice of "Prospect" status. On this particular panel I don't really care what the prospect status. I want to know the PROPOSAL status.

We want to see "PROPOSAL" Status!!!!

As the administrator updates the information, the Executive Director can pull this up at any time on his dashboard, without having to refer to a query-based report that I have to generate.

Assistance would be appreciated ASAP.

When I create a Proposal Status Dashboard I'm given the option to filter by "Proposal status to include" in addition tio "Prospect status to include."

Are you not getting that option?

Debbie,

Out of curiosity are you looking at the Proposals tab in Work Center, the Proposals tile on a constituent record, or something else? I was under the impression that for the tile on the constituent record does show the proposal status (not prospect status) and I believe there are optional column on the Proposals tab in Work Center for both Proposal status and Prospect status. Am I mistaken or missing some nuance to the request?

Hi Jarod,

Proposal Status Panel on the Dashboard. I wasn't very clear yesterday, I apologize.

Dashboard > Customize Dashboard > Proposal Status Edit > Columns to Show: there is no column for "Proposal Status", only for "Prospect Status".

Therefore to know whether a proposal which is listed is pending, accepted, accepted verbally, declined, draft I would have to go into the record to view the proposal status. Lots of clicks, when the very essence of the panel name, Proposal Status, is what I desire.

Ah, yeah, I can filter by Proposal Status, but can't display that column.

Work Center? Are we looking at RE7 or NXT?

Hi,

I have found that if you can create a query and then use the query in the dashboard, you can display any information that you can display in the query. It's a great work around for those fields that are not available in the dashboard view. That should resolve your problem of not being able to select the status you would like to see.

The :"gotcha" with this is that there's no such thing as a Proposal Query. If you do a Constituent Query you get ALL the Propsals for that Constituent.

Hi all!

Jarod and I had a chance to connect on this to review the question. In Raiser's Edge 7, the Dasboard feature just allows you to add a column for "Prospect Status" at the constituent level, but not the "Proposal Status" at the proposal record level. This is currently a suggestion other customers have requested, and so I would recommend adding a vote to this idea at the link:

If this idea gets enough weight from the customer base, will save customers time, and we feel it would be a good place to invest our resources, we will look at prioritizing it. For the time being, Jennifer had the great idea of leveraging query to pull out the specific statuses of the proposals.

In Raiser's Edge NXT, we have built out a new listbuilder architecture for faster and easier reporting on information. In the Work Center view we can filter on lists of Proposals specifically by status and other criteria (including a screenshot below).

I actually use a query in the "Proposal Status" Panel, but I do not get those column options. Not sure exactly what you are doing. Based on that query I can export a great report in Excel which has all the columns I need. But in the dashboard I am limited to what is available.

I also do not know what Work Center is. We are hosted on The Raiser's Edge 7.94.6116.

Then when you select the dashboard, chose proposal query - not proposal status and then select the query you just made. The items will appear on your dashboard the same as in the query output.

Just to close the loop on your question with Work Center and to avoid any confusion, that is part of Raiser's Edge NXT, which is the newest version of Raiser's Edge we officially released this month (more information here: https://www.blackbaud.com/fundraising-and-relationship-management/the-nxt-era)

The "Work Center" is functionality that currently does not exist in Raiser's Edge 7.

I quit using the canned dashboard years ago and also create all my dashboards using query now.... that way I get the info I want to see.
