Import Issues with CSV Files and Const. ID #'s

Has anyone else had issues with getting their Const. ID to stay an ID in your CSV file when creating an import file? My ID #'s keep converting to dates no matter how I format the cells in the CSV. I know if I export a file from RE I can save it as a txt file to prevent that from happening but cannot figure out how to fix this issue in a CSV file I am creating for a new import.

You could try prefixing all the IDs with an apostrophe in Excel. That should keep the number in the original format, including any leading zeros.

You have to make sure that that row is formatted as a number and not as a date.

Karen yes I have tried this and it still converts.

I always format
the ID field as text. I have never had issues when converting to
CSV that way. You might give it a try.

the only way to really know if you are losing a field is if you open the .csv file in a text reader. once i review my exported file in excel and save is as a .csv file i don't open it again (although I have tested it and the file is fine).

Save the CSV as excel and do the import. It should work.
