Target Analytics

Options
Good afternoon,

I am looking for some insight on others who have purchased and run their data through Target Analytics?  We are currently reviewing a proposal to purchase and I am curious how others felt about this product and what their ROI was.

Thanks

  • We just did this same analysis and I presented at a conference about it. Every organization has different needs when it comes to this type of product, but we ended up going with Target Analytics as we were most satisfied with the results we received. The linking directly into RE is an added bonus. We compared 4 different screening vendors and made a pro vs. con list of each one of them. We look at results from test screenings that we did, using the same data file so we could see the differences in how the data was returned and what each was able to find. In the end, it came down to two, then we narrowed based on things like cost and integration.

    Good luck with your project
  • They provide good data, but how it gets structured in RE makes it almost impossible to use without creating complex custom reports.  All the values get stored as text which can make analysis very hard to do.  Here's a partial screenshot of for one of our donors.

There is no "Ratings" Query or Export, so when you try to Query or Export the data you can only address it at the Constituent level and you have very limited ability to filter which Ratings you want.

Here's a screenshot for Query (note how some of the Ratings get duplicated between Scores):

    And two for Export:

Trying to get a list your top prospects with a Major Giving Likelihood of 950 or greater can't be done without a Custom Report.

On the Discovery site there's a request for this to be improved along with a comment that this problem has been in the BBKB since 2001, so don't hold your breath that it will be fixed anytime soon.  http://rediscovery.uservoice.com/forums/137015-raiser-s-edge-discovery-topics/suggestions/2910133-ratings

  • I have have used Target Analytics and another wealth screening service, Wealth Engine.  They are both similar, but the pricing structure for Wealth Engine, when I used it (a few years ago) was better.
