Batch - RunningTotal inaccessible from outside Batch

Options
Is there no way to have/show a column in the Batches list which shows the 'Running Total' of each respective batch? The Columns I see are (from left to right), Batch number, Created By, Created On, Description, Batch Type, and Times Committed. Currently, our only solution has been to edit the Batch Description after each batch is entered [i.e. Batch - Description: Campaign naming scheme ($1,000)]. A Running Total per Batch, column would be very useful in tackling committing, by prioritizing. Thank you.

Robin, I don't know of any way to get $ total.  Especially if you're looking at a recurring batch committed numerous times.  I think you figured out the best work around.  (Was confused/wondering why batches need to be prioritized for committing [*-)] - just difference in how RE is used I guess.)

Thank you for your reply! I guess I'll stick with the current practice for now. We are a small organization, and at times it can help us to prioritize large gifts or older gifts first; or, find out how much we have input, waiting to be committed, rather than using a batch average. Regards, Robin.

Can I ask why there is a delay in committing batches after they are committed?  We're quite small also, but batches are committed as soon as gifts are all entered.  Do your batches have to be reviewed?  I know everyone has their own internal procedures - just wondering.

Our batches have to be reviewed, and I know that can cause some delays.  We also have an internal control that the person committing isn't the same as the person batching - I don't like it, but it does help keep the gift entry off my plate, otherwise I'd never do anything else.  So we have a batcher, a reviewer, and a committer - 3 levels.  So the turn around is not lightning fast.  If any one person gets behind or is out then we all fall behind.

You can also vote for this suggestion ...

Add another column in 'Batch' for 'Batch Total'
