tax receipt

Hi, Has anyone set up an online donation record? My boss wants me to look into what it would take for us to send out an email to all of our donors that contributed in 2013 with a unique supporter ID and a link to our secure website where the donor can then print out their 2013 tax receipt.  We do acknowledge all gifts through out the year with a tax receipt so this would just be extra.

Any thoughts on where to begin to look into this?  Thanks for any input or thoughts.

I have built it in NetCommunity using a query to select the prior year gifts and specific funds in a transaction manager part.  The only problem is that we need to use the receipt amount not the gift amount which is an available field but the part does not offer a total for the receipt amount.  I have registered this as an issue with blackbaud and hope that it will be corrected before next year. 

I set it up to look like the annual giving statements that we run from RE, but in order for the donor to have it available they need to be a registered user of the site.
