How do I see what team raiser participants are donating over their registration fees

We are trying to figure out how see what registrants are donating above their registration fees so we can generate thank you letters. In the Teamraiser participant report it only shows their registration fees and any add-ons but doesn't show extra donations made over the registrations. Do we need to build a report for that or should it be showing?

    Hey there Trish,

     

    You can run a Report Writer > TeamRaiser > Gift Summary by Participant report and choose columns to show you "gifts from participant" both count and amount that shows what the participant has donated to themselves. However this can sometimes be misleading since some participants will ask friends to just make a check out to them or take all the cash they received and use their card to process their gifts online under their name. 

     

    You can also add the column "gifts not from participant" which will not include any transactions by the participant.

    Thanks! I did find this report but the issue is that the reports are run daily so they number



    We want to know the amount they paid when they registered including any personal donation they made at that time. When we run the Teamraiser report it shows the initial registration amount in the fee's column but not any additional donation amount. So if Jane registers for $35 and then donates $65 at the time of registration - in the column of participant donations it shows $100. We run one report for daily transactions "donations by transaction." Teamraiser doesn't show in this report so she runs "Teamraiser report" at the end of the event and then dumps all of that information into Raisers Edge. The column that she is using to dump is " registration fees". So Jane's $35 will get recorded into her record- but the $65 doesn't show up in the Teamraiser report and doesn't show in the daily transaction report. The problem in using the column that you referenced is that if she made additional donations to her page then those are already recorded based on the "daily transactions" report.
