Difference in Luminate and RENXT

Options

Has anyone stopped using Luminate and gone to using the RENXT email system? What are the differences?

  • @Jenifer Wisniewski We have not. NXT doesn't have the survey/form options that LO offers, so in my mind, there's no way for people to subscribe.

We have transitioned some smaller email functions to NXT. For example, once volunteers are subscribed in LO and have an NXT record, my colleagues can email lists of volunteers for various needs (this flow still involves a static RE query to access the volunteer table). They also use NXT to email lists of event participants.

  • @Jenifer Wisniewski I agree with Kelly! I think LO is a much more robust eCRM, but if you're using RE as your database of record for a larger universe of offline or relationship-managed major gifts donors that don't or shouldn't exist in LO, those non-housefile email programs could be good candidates for the NXT mailer.

  • @Jenifer Wisniewski We have decided not to move to RENXT online giving. We are a PBS station that needs custom fields to house 8-10 specific data for thank you gifts. We can't create these due to the lack of access for a table to reference our custom fields. We also use the full coding of CFAP which webview doesn't provide the option to assign a package id to transactions. These are the two main reason why we haven't converted from LO. I know that @Lacey Kruger and her team are working on building out more functionality in webview. She has listened to our concerns. I know that there are items that are a higher priority but I am waiting to see when our items are forecasted to be available. Overall, the RENXT online forms are where we would like to move towards in the future.

No… We've moved all of our marketing emails into Raiser's Edge, but we do still currently have our donation form and all of our surveys in Luminate Online. I'm hoping to move our donation form over soon into Raiser's Edge as it's gotten to the point to where we can utilize it, but there isn't anything we can use in RE in terms of surveys. We'll have to see if they move that functionality, if we decide to keep Luminate, or if we decide to go with an 3rd party and import the data into RE until we can get rid of Luminate.

Surveys/Sign up forms are the biggest things holding us up.
