Job Description

The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) seeks an experienced fundraising professional to join its Development Team.

Responsibilities

  • Research STEM education corporate, foundation, and individual prospects, including giving priorities, application guidelines, geographic focus, and leadership biographies.
  • Write grant applications and funding proposals.
  • Record research and grant-making activities in Raisers Edge and server files.
  • Conduct case-building research (analysis of demographic trends, educational data, etc.) to support grant proposals.
  • Assist with organizational fundraising and institutional advancement activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of fundraising experience.
  • Excellent computer skills including internet search and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Raiser’s Edge, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with varied methods of generating financial support for nonprofit organizations.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • College degree required.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter that: works well independently, contributes to a results-oriented team, takes direction well, can prioritize workload, and ensures deadlines are met. Will ideally have experience navigating complex organizations such as business or higher education, managing high-level projects, and communicating internally and externally.

Salary range: $52 – 60k

The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE), a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, nurtures high school and university scholars to careers of excellence and leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and encourages collaboration between and among scientific and technological leaders in the global community.

CEE programs are nationally and internationally recognized for developing young minds through collaborations with educational institutions, foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individuals that share a commitment to educational excellence. The Center’s programs include the Research Science Institute (RSI), USA Biolympiad (USABO), Teacher Enrichment Program (TEP), and STEM Lyceums. CEE has contributed to the scientific leadership of this country since its founding in 1983 by the late Admiral H.G. Rickover, and Joann DiGennaro, CEE President.
