Convio 5.3.60 Event Upgrade Challenges

Options

Our site was recently upgraded to 5.3.60 and we're running into some challenges/questions with the new events module. Anyone have any idea about the following:

- deleting ticket types?

- where the info entered in the street, city, state, etc fields appears?

- why there is no save button on the Configure Additional Information screen?

  • Sorry to hear yu're having some trouble with the upgrade.

It is not possible to delete a Ticket Type once you create it, but we did build it two ways to manage the Ticket Types. First, you can close it by using the Close Registration related action on Step A of the Ticket Type configuration.Essentially edit the ticket type and on the first step look for the related action on your left nav bar. This will mark the Ticket Ype as sold out and not allow anymore tickets of that type to be purchased. Second, if you wish to hide the Ticket Type from view, simply put the Ticket Type into an administrator only security category, and then no one but administrators can see it.

The detailed location information entered on the Additional Information page is displayed on the Event Information page, Essentially, once you hit the link to the event details from the calendar, the first page displays the pertinent information about the event, including the address, etc.

Finally, none of the pages have a Save button, except for the final step. This was a part of the overall UI redesign.

    Hi James,

Thanks for the info re: "deleting" ticket types. It is helpful.

We're not seeing the detailed location information on our Event Information pages unless we use our "old" method of entering street, city, in the Event Location field. Is this a problem I should flag with Support?

To whom or where should I provide feedback on the new Events module? In addition to the lack of a Save button being a pain when flipping back and forth between admin and user side to view edits, our users have also expressed frustration about autoresponder previews pulling in placeholder text for the event details as opposed to the actual information. This makes it tough to proof.

    Cheers,

Can you include a link to the calendar you are referring to so I can see for myself? As for feedback, you already have. The Product Managers read these forums and note down feedback to incorporate into future versions of the product.

    Hi James,

    Sorry for the delay.

Please visit the Western Mustang Band 70th Anniversary Banquet event at . This is the first event where we have NOT used the work around of adding all the location details in the Event Location field but instead entered them in the Event Location Address fields.

    Hi,

I looked into this and I think your site has a pre-existing customization that is blocking this information from showing up. I spoke with your account manager about this and he should be reaching out to you.
