personalization in text-only version

Options

Whenever I set up an e-mail with personalization in it (such as Dear ), the text version turns that section into a bunch of code. I normally change that in the text version to the default or generic word there instead of the name, assuming the text version can't handle that function. Is that right, or should I leave it as is?

Thanks.

  • Yep! You can leave the code in there. It'll certainly work in the text-only versions.

If you'd like to test it, when you send the test e-mail to yourself, simply check the "Send a separate plain-text copy to my test email addresses" box right about the send button on the Send Review Email page. That way you'll get both html and text only test e-mails.
