Determining number of donations made for specific $ amounts

Options

We're interested in knowing for one of our campaigns how many people donated $10 or less, $10-$50, $50-100, etc. How is that easily done?

  • Jenna - depending on how you want to use the data, I'd say the easiest way is to run a Donation Report (Donations by Transaction, or Donations by Donor, whatever you want - Donations by Transaction will give you the most information). Then when you are configuring the filters, you can choose the campaign you're interested in. You can also filter by gift, but I'd say just get all the donors and sort your Excel file by the gift amount.

You could also use Report Writer if you're interested in a more customized report, but for the quick answer, the canned donation reports will work fine. Then you can use the email addresses in the file to create Groups if you need to.

Sally- I did end up using donations by transaction, so i'm glad my work on that wasn't a waste. I tried gift, but for some reason the report would not download or open- who knows why. So thankfully transaction worked. I was poking around at queries too, but it seemed confusing, and it didn't look like it would have all the infromation I needed.

    Thanks!
