Spam control text

we have imbeded a survey in an email and at the bottom of the survey there is a spam control text: and a box to the right of that and to the right of that box there is a note that says "please leave this field empty". Does anyone know why?

  • When you say you imbedded a survey in an email, do you mean you actually put the form fields in the HTML body of the email itself or you put a link back to a survey in the email? Not sure I understand your question.

But, on the assumption you mean that you put the form fields themselves into an HTML email:

While, tecnically, you can put a form in an email, no email client (in default security settings) will allow that form to work and many (maybe even most) would strip it out completely. Just like JavaScript, flash, and other video content, you can't put those things into emails -- there are piles of security risks involved there, so no email client worth it's salt would allow those sorts of things to function.

So, the simple answer is -- don't do that, it won't work and there isn't a workaround that will make it work. Put a link to your survey instead. Or, make a screenshot of your survey and put it in that links to your real survey when they click it... but you can't put the form in the email it simply won't work.
