Need help updating a file via ftp into our page wrapper

Options

My problem: We have two flash videos that rotate on our site when people visit. One of them isn’t working and when people click on it, they get taken to a page not found page. I have an updated file for the new flash and I just need to know how to swap it out with the old one by loading it to our convio ftp and fixing the broken link. I have access to our Convio FTP and I have access to edit out page wrapper. I went into the page wrapper editor to fix the broken link, but I couldn't figure out which s-tag it was.

If anyone could provide me with step-by-step instructions on how to fix my problem that would be fantastic!!!!

  • Hey Elizabeth,

If I understand the problem, I would So if you've already uploaded the new Flash file, then I would go into pagebuilder.

    • Copy the current version of the pagebuilder page

    • edit the new version

    • turn the WYSIWIG off

    • look for the URL that you know is broken

(if it is hard to find, you might want to cut and paste the text into a text editor and search there)

    • replace it with the new one

    • apply

    • publish the new version

Of course, if the problem is just a link in the old flash file, then if you just upload new one and replace it you should be fine...

Thank you for helping me out!! I do have a follow up question. I have taken over someone here and I wasn't given very good instructions on how to upload to the ftp site. The flash is in our page wrapper, so do I upload the new file in the flash folder or the images folder on the ftp??

    Thanks again

It could be either, in FTP I would just look for the files that already exist (or look in pagebuilder and see where the flash file exists... you should see the path in the HTML)
