Other online fundraising platforms?

Options
Does anyone have any advice on which online fundraising platforms (i.e. platforms like Classy, Raisely, etc.) work well or integrate fully with eTapestry? We would love to have a modern, user friendly online giving platform that includes donation forms, landing pages, peer to peer, etc. rather than using eTap's cumbersome DIY forms and outdated personal fundraising module. However, we don't want to get into a situation where we have a ton of manual data entry to do on a daily or weekly basis. Does the Just Giving integration solve this problem? Or is this just a peer to peer platform? Just wondering what others might use!

  • No great solution... We recently ran a successful campaign on causematch.com. And then had to re-enter all of the data as journal entries into Etap. The only suggestion, which helped considerably, would be to put the data into tables in excel and run imports. Either at the end, or weekly. Imports of journal entries will make the process much faster, especially if you have many UDFs for the campaign that you added.

One problem that came up, was usually when entering donations into Etap, we use pledges and received, and there is no option to import pledges. So therefore we imported the donations as gifts. And for pledges, there was no import option.

    Good Luck!
  • Hi Quinn,

We used JustGiving for the first time last year for a Roughin' It for a Reason Campout event. We ran into a few issues because it was a prototype for Canada. The integration into e-tapestry once set up happened at the end of each day and for the most part worked well. I think it might be worth looking into.

    Good Luck.
  • We have used MobileCause. It integrates smoothly, although you do need to do a little mapping when you set up a form you want to integrate. It's so much better looking and current that the DIY forms in eTap. We used MobileCause for our online event last summer, so we used the event page, forms, text to donate, tickets, peer to peer, etc. They have great training, too. We've also used them for our golf event and for other donation forms.

The only downside is the cost is $4,200/year (but they gave us a deal for the first year) and you can only map so much information. It does look for people already in eTap when it integrates (once a night) and adds the proper journal entries or adds a new account if none exists. But it will only bring over Fund, Campaign, and Approach. So if you have meal choices, golf add-ons, etc., you have to run a report in MobileCause and either transfer to eTap, manually type in, or just put on a spreadsheet.

I've used this solution quite a bit, so let me know if you have any questions.
  • I'm grappling with the same issue - in the end we have gone with Raisley as it is a great PTP platform (Just Giving was very limited here in New Zealand so we can''t use it - even though E-Tap has built in intergation for JustGiving) so we will use Raisley with custom imports (alhtough can''t do soft credit on import which is a pain) but down the track are hoping to us Raisley's Zapier intergration in conjunction with a Zapier - Etap intgeration. There is a company called Sidekick Solutions (Blackbaud approved) that has the Zapier-Etap integration but you have to pay for a licence etc so not sure how that all works out.. The advantage of Zapier is you can also use for lots of other intergations e.g. Mailchimp
  • Sarah,

Thanks for your information. I have been wondering about Zapier. I have read many of Sidekick Solution's blogs on different eTap training and have found them a great resource.
  • Thank you for posting this Valerie. I have been in contact with MobileCause and went through their product demo. This looks like amazing software and it is nice to see a recommendation for it.
  • Great! Hope it works for you.
