Options
When are you going to update the Email Marketing software?

It is so dated, the templates are not responsive, limited customization!!!


Really not worth it at all!

    If you have a specific feature or customization in mind to improve the product, the product managers are always looking for ideas in the ideas bank. It's here in Community in the tabs, you can click ideas and submit your idea for improving the product. You can also read other members ideas and vote on the features/customizations you agree with.

    Have you checked out the email marketing tool in RENXT. The interface is more modern and has several more templates that are updated and mobile responsive.

    BB knows the product isn't good.



    What frustrates me is the I have to pay for Constant Contact
    for my email marketing because of it. That means I pay BB and
    Constant Contact.

  • Hi Lisa Lennox‍. Have you contacted Blackbaud Support about your Online Express emails not being mobile responsive? As Michele Stender‍ mentioned, there are certainly more (and more modern) email templates available in the RENXT email marketing tool than are available in Online Express. But all emails built and sent through either tool (whether using a pre-made templates or starting from a blank layout) should render nicely across all reasonably modern mobile devices and email clients. 


    If you're seeing something different, we definitely want to know. Ensuring that you don't have to spend time and effort worrying about whether your emails will look nice on mobile devices has been a foundational principle of both Online Express and RENXT Email Marketing since the inception of both tools and we've been committed to resolving any way in which either tool fails to deliver on that commitment.

    Michele, have they added the option to  mark constituents as receiving the emails through NXT? That is a benefit of OnlineExpress that wasn't present in NXT and stopped me from using it.

  • Hi Gloria Litwinowicz‍. Would you mind clarifying what you mean by marking constituents as receiving emails through NXT? It may be that RENXT's Email Marketing does what you're asking, but I wanted to be sure before answering :)

  • I believe the question is when will we be able to add the responses (opens, clicks, received, etc. as an Appeal or Action) to the constituents' records like when you click "Add this data to RE" button in OLX. This is the major reason we have not switched over to using NXT Email.
  • Melissa is exactly correct. Ability to track emails and responses on constituent records is of great importance. That is what makes Blackbaud software for email stand out above others.

    We are at the tail end of development now for the ability to track email interactions on the constituent record. So for any constituent, you would see when an email was sent to them as well as the last interaction they had with it (open, click, donation, etc.).


    As we get a little closer, there will be an opportunity for a smaller customer group to work with the feature before it is rolled out more broadly to all customers. Let me know if you would like to be on that short list.

I have put both of those in to the development suggestion area. Also, when someone unsubscribes, is there an auto-reply that confirms they have unsubscribed?

    Hi Kent, could you add me to the shortlist for testing new features?


    When viewing a constituent record in NXT, having the ability on the same page to view which newsletters they have received, opened, clicked, etc. is critical to our comms department.

    I was wondering the same thing about unsubscribing.


    it's awful that some users unsubscribe and there is no notification to inform them they have been removed.


    its also an opportunity to ask them some important questions, like why they unsubscribed, or if they want to fill out a survey or other...
