Tribute Report

Options
For those of you with Tribute Module, I was surprised to learn this yesterday after chatting with the HelpDesk.  I need to periodically pull a list of Tributes and their Donors, based on Gift Date (to clarify, "here's a list of people who had a gift given in their honor or memory and the donors of those gifts").  I thought that would be the Honors/Memorials Contributors Report.  After running it and finding errors/missing Donor Information, I asked the Helpdesk.  Are the Donor Names for this report pulled based on the specific gift records within the parameters I've set (ie, gifts between Nov 1 and Mar. 31)?  No. They're just based on the general Constituent record.  So if Mary Jones gave a gift in Nov and then Bob and Mary Jones gave in Jan, both gifts will show as Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones.  My next question to them -- so it doesn't really matter WHAT i enter in the gift record, does it (as far as soft credit is concerned)  NOPE.  HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE????!!!!!!!  ???  Am I the only one whose mind is blown?   Is this a well known secret????

(FWIW, each Constituent has their own record, the Spouse does not automatically get Soft Credited, each Constituent has Primary Add/Sal of Mr. Robert Jones and then a Combined Add/Sal of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones.)

Hi Amy Horrocks‍ - Check under the Format tab (Donor > Individual) for what Add/Sal you have directed the report to use.  I would recommend you try setting it to the individual Addressee to see the difference in who gave the gift.  Personally I do not use the canned report anymore, I pull a query.
