Omatic LO connector

Options
Hi Everyone,

We are considering purchasing the Omatic Luminate Online Connector. Has anyone had experience with this product and what are the pros and cons? We are currently using the RELO plugin which has been difficult because certain data fields that we need to be imported into RE are unavailble as well as the same issues others have had with organizational gifts. However my main concern with the Omatic LO connector is that when importing gifts into RE, duplicate records are prevented from being created in RE however duplicate accounts will still exist in LO. With RELO, records are synced so that in LO there will only be one existing account and RE/LO systems are then equalized. Will the Omatic LO Connector do this type of syncing/equalizing and how? We have a large P2P event where we use Team Raiser and my concern is having too many duplicate accounts in LO where things like giving history etc in LO is not accurate and affects reporting done in LO. Thanks in advance!

  • Did you receive any responses or did you implement Omatic? Curious as we are considering Omatic and wanted to learn from others before pulling the trigger.

    Thanks

  • Monica, I missed this question when you originally posted it but am happy to respond because we also moved from RELO connector to Omatic LO connector a couple of years ago.

Essentially your hopes and fears are spot on.

First the good news. The Omatic connector gives you almost infinite control over transactions imported to RE in the sense that you can define almost any field in RE that you want to update when the gift is imported. You can create virtual fields to update and build data dictionaries that allow you to transform coding coming from LO to appropriate coding in RE. On top of that you also have the ability to write visual basic code to further extend the customization that you may want though truthfully we have not found that necessary and so have done very little. IOMs matching capabilities help to ensure that even if duplicate records are created in LO when they come in to RE it is smart enough to match to existing RE records.

Now for the bad news. Because the Omatic connector does not connect RE and LO in real-time as the RELO does, records merged in RE and NOT merged in LO. You have to do that yourself. I am not certain what the limitations on this are but Omatic has not been able to offer this functionality.

    Hope this is helpful.
