URL Params on a Donation 2.0 Giving Form?

I'm new to BBNC, but have prior experience with lite web development and other platforms such as iModules Encompass. I've taken over a large collection of BBNC content, and am adding some new giving forms using Donation 2.0 parts. I found the new features guide online for version 7.1 SP1, and it refers to the ability to add a URL parameter for the designation:

 
The designation and appeal can be overridden by the URL used to access the donation form. You format this URL as https://www.yourdomain.org/donate-now?aid=Appeal system record ID&did=Designation system record ID.




I have been testing with trying to include the designation in the URL string, to no avail. Is this feature compatible with Donation 2.0 parts? Is there anything further that needs to be enabled to make this happen? Is there a comprehensive list of URL parameters documented somewhere? (I've also seen mention in the forums of suggested donation amount as a parameter...)

    David from Blackbaud here, I apologize that documentation needs to be updated. The current donation 2.0 part does not accept the URL parameters at this time. The parameters for appeal on the donation form can be seen at https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/55482.


    Also you can pass through anything with a URL parameter if you have knowledge of JS/Jquery to write code to parse a custom URL to update any Donation form. Anyone can do this, you can ever hire a 3rd party developer, or speak to your Blackbaud rep about a customization. 


    At this time the only already coded URL parameter is an Appeal

    Well, that's disappointing. Does such functionality exist with OnlineExpress?

    Sadly, the functionality does not exist within OLX (Online Express) other then parsing out the fields with custom code on the page. Hopefully our developers will add it to the new RENXT forms as they are developed. To suggest that get submit your idea https://community.blackbaud.com/products/raisersedgenxt/ideas

    Have you tried the Magic Links options on the last tab of the Oline Express donation forms?  You can do a few things with that for the OLX forms. 

    Do a search in the Online Express community and you'll find a few discussions on it.

    BBOX donation forms currently support the following five query string parameters (a.k.a. magic links):
    • BBGiftAmount
    • BBPledgeAmount (if the form has pledge giving enabled)
    • BBHideOtherGifts
    • BBFund
    • BBHideOtherFunds

    Candy Reichert‍, thanks for the added information. Our University is still on NetCommunity with an on-prem RE installation. We are moving to NXT and OLX this summer, so I'll have to explore these options when we get access.
