Send an email with survey link that populates with constituent data

Options
Hi there,

I'm building a small survey to send to participants who have already registered to our events. The survey is intended to get their consent to opt-in into a new e-campaign we're running. Is there a way to make sure when they access the link to the survey via email the survey is prepopulated with their constituent data? So when they do opt in it'll update their profile in LO? The survey fields will all be mapped to the right constituent profile fields, I just want to ensure we're not creating new/duplicated records. We will want to pull the list of registrants for these events once they're done and have the updated data there from the survey.

Any ideas?

  • You can try an auto-login link to the survey. When adding the link to your email content, click OPTIONS and check "Automatically log the user in when this link is clicked".

That's a great idea, and if they're not already logged in or don't have remember me setup will LO ask them to login before filling out the survey? Sorry for late reply, I didn't get a notification for a response.

  • I believe the way those links work is the recipient will NOT have to log in, even if they don't have remember me set up.

The link itself acts kinda like a remember me cookie, so the page targeted by that link knows who they are.

If they forward that email to someone else, the page will still think the forwardee is the original recipient - but certain actions will always prompt for auth, like editing their user profile.

I don't think we've actually used this in production, so post how it goes for you!
