Any dollars raised with Online Express OLX wallets?

Options
Hi!

Christine Prete‍, this one's for you! ;-)

I'm exploring adding wallets to our Online Express, but have a few concerns. Has anyone been able to change the text on the "Secure Payment" button to something else? The language implies the other giving methods aren't secure.

Plus the form (and button) doesn't actually say anything about Apple Pay, MasterPass or Visa Checkout, so how do your donors know it's there?

Would love to hear from NPOs who actually received donations through the new giving methods. How did you advertise these options? And did the gifts come through your website or were they initiated by donors on their phones (perhaps at an event)?

Thanks!

Hi Katrina Freeburg‍ - I'm glad to see someone else has concerns about the "Secure Payment" text on the submit button and not being able to change it; my organization would like to be able to change text to be consistent with what we currently have set for the submit button on our OLX forms.  Not being able to edit the button text is only reason we have not put the Blackbaud Secure Checkout on our donation forms.  I am curious to hear from others on how they are advertising it, how gifts came through, etc.  Thanks for posting this question!
  • Thanks for sharing Katrina Freeburg‍ and Austen Brown‍. We're watching this thread and definitely would like to see others chime in who are concerned about the wording of the form buttons in OLX forms.

In the interim, while you can't edit the "Secure Payment" button, you can edit the button that sits at the bottom of the form when DD or Bill Me Later are the chosen payment method. To do this, on the Fine Tuning step of the form editor, click the Direct Debit payment method button. Initially that will expose the text of that DD button for editing, but just close that pop-up. You should then see the default form submit button. Clicking that should allow you to alter the text of that button to something like "Donate Securely" to make it clearer that all methods of payment supported by the OLX form are indeed secure.

  • Thanks for the idea, Chris. But it still doesn't help donors understand that "Secure Payment" = MasterPass, Apple Pay, Visa Wallet, etc. Any chance you'd add those icons to the donation form so donors recognize the opportunity to use those channels?
  • Hi Katrina Freeburg‍ yes your feedback is totally valid and is a topic we've had lots of discussions about and we've actually cycled through several round of visual design on it. Although we haven't finalized a decision yet, we are still considering this and actually this community thread spawned some additional conversations just yesterday about how we might want to approach this. So thanks very much for the great feedback.

  • Hi Chris, we'd like the ability to choose our own button text as well. It almost became a dealbreaker for my AF Director.

    Thanks,

    Dan
  • I vote for being able to change the button text as well. In addition, similar to what Karina mentions, we have set up a script on our donation pages so that Apple Pay icon shows if folks have Apple Pay ("Looking to give with Apple Pay?" - this then takes them to a mobile checkout page), but would love to see the additional icons as well (MasterPass, Visa Checkout). Would these need the same script to run on a donation standard page?

We would also love to see some other popular payment option added. Paypal, Google Pay, Venmo, etc.
