Changing the Appeal on a Sold Stock gift

Options
A gift was entered with the wrong appeal and it is throwing numbers off. It was given to the wrong cost center. Has anyone been able to correct this without deleting and reentering?

  • You should be able to into the gift and click split gift to change the appeal code.

  • If you are integrated with FE, you will need to perform a gift adjustment to make this change. Then, as Judy advises, go to the Split Gift tab of the adjustment to change the appeal code.
  • Since it is a Sold Stock gift, there isn't a 'Split Gift' tab. Only the Adjustment tab. So, that is not an option. Thanks for answering though!
  • Vicky, the Split Gift is a sub-tab after you open up an Adjustment.

  • There is not a 'Split tab', because it is a Sold/Stock gift. You can't make changes to the Appeal this way.

  • You can't make changes to the Appeal by using the Split gift tab on a new adjustment because it is a Stock Gift that has been sold. I'm trying to figure out if there is another way besides deleting it and re-entering it.
  • The problem isn't solely because the Stock Gift is Sold, it's because it is Posted.  I have many Stock Gifts where I can freely change the Appeal, but we do not Post Gifts.  Once a Gift is Posted it can only be Adjusted.  Unfortunately once a Stock Gift is Sold all you can Adjust are the Sale Amount, Broker Fees, and GL Post Date.
  • Yes, my mistake. I meant a Posted Sold Stock gift. Thank you for that.
  • Ah, that would be the difference. We regularly post Stock Gifts and the Adjustment still retains the Split Gift function. We have not normally posted gifts as Stock/Property (sold).
