Is there a way to limit Teamraiser registrations by constituent/group?

Hello all!

Looking for some help/recommendations on limiting registration to an event by constituent. For example, we open registration early for a select group of individuals who participated the previous year. We don't want anyone else besides the people on the list to be able to register. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how?

I've scoured the blog and looked through Teamraiser settings, but have been unsuccessful. Any help is appreciated!

Hi Shauna,

You should be able to set an early bird style discount code and then limit it to a specific group.

Participant types can have security classes. "Controls which registrants will have this participation type displayed on their registration forms (Note: The General option displays it on all registration forms.)"

So you can assign all of your part types to a security class, and only give access to that class for your group. Everyone else will not see any active participant types, and therefore won't be able to register.

Depending on how tight you need to lock things down, might be easiest to simply hide the initial early bird Participation Type with a "Promo code," and then you can send a special link to the prior participants that contains the promo code embedded w/in the link to automatically "unhide" it. Nice thing is that they wouldn't need to log in w/ this approach, (and you could also display a field to enter the promo code if they didn't have the link). Downside is that they could fwd to a non-prior participant, so it's not as locked down as Brian's approach w/ the Sec Cat. - Jon
