How to track the current fundraisers

Options
I would like to know how you/your organization track the current fundraisers. When someone register for an event, we add the name of the event and other information to the event tab. When they completed the event, an action will be added

action type - “Final thank you letter”

completed – “Yes”

constituent code - “Fundraiser”

“date from” - date

To identify our current fundraisers who is still active, I need to run couple of queries. We have nearly 39 events and need to check the event id one of …... and action type does not equal to “Final thank you letter” but the fundraisers can do more than one event.

I am considering using the Constituent Date To, to close when a fundraiser completed the event or add an attribute to show that they are current fundraisers.

I welcome all thoughts and feedback!

Thanks

Wouldn't this be a good use of the solicitor functionality?  I really dislike the use of a constituent code with dates here, primarily because of how they operate within queries.

I don't understand why a constituent code would be used at all here.
  • If I am reading correctly, Current Fundraiser is actually a current donor?  an event attendee?  NOT the person who may be soliciting their attendance or gift giving.

I would not put this info in Constituent Code.  That's not what it is designed for and will interfere with reporting.

If you need to note additional interaction with your attendees, why not keep it all in an action for that event.  It sounds like you have started to do that already.  You could utlize Action Attributes for the different steps/phases of the interactions related to that particular event.  And do that with every event that you need to.

I have not used the Event module in a very long time, I don't remember if there are Attributes in Events, I would not be surprised if there were.  If so, that would be the first place to put this info, in lieu of that, Actions.
