Donation form Thermometer

Options
We are running a campaign and have a few people that have added duplicate gifts/pledges, both are showing up in the thermometer.  Is there a way to one of them from showing in the thermomter?  Will this be happen if I mark the gift as Refunded?

Thanks for your help.

  • I use the offline gifts field to keep the total accurate. I subtract the total shown as given online from my overall campaign and then enter the difference into the offline box, so that the overall total is accurate. I generally run this process monthly during the slow months, and weekly during the busy months.
  • Yes, I use that too.  I have a query that pulls new gifts during the event.  However, I would rather not have to keep a list of those that pledged AND paide through the giving form. THese are counted twice and should be able to be removed from the donation form thermometer if it marked as Refunded, or deleted.

Is there a way to remove it from the thermometer?

  • Since there isn't a way to remove gifts from the thermometer (that I have found), I don't use that figure for an accurate count of what has come in, only as the number to subtract from the overall amount.  After I generate the overall figure through a Report in the financial reports section of RE to get the accurate total, I subtract the amount shown as given through that form and that makes the total received towards goal will be correct.
  • Also, if your total in your form is too large for the subtraction method to work (i.e. - it's more than the total of actual gifts for the campaign), copy that form and use the script from the new form in its place, entering the "offline" gifts to get the thermometer to the right spot.
  • Good idea.   Thanks!!
