Adding Date to the Export File Name Plus Emaling function

Options
Hello,

I wanted to know if it was possible for us to produce an export file with the current date value as part of the file name?  So, when I run it every day it will not override the one from the previous day.  We are trying to schedule it through QUEUE.

Also, does the system allows for an automatic email to be sent out once the export is created?  We are exploring all options so that our end users received their daily exports via email.

Thanks

  • Alejandro, there is no way in Queue to add the current date to the export file name.  One workaround for this would be to create a script on your server that would add the date to the file name on a nightly basis.

I don't think there is a way to email the file to everyone, but you can set up a notification to let them know that the export ran successfully.

Thank you for the quick response Joshua... I was already thinking of other ways to do it at the server level, but this confirms it.  I am fairly new to RE and still in training mode, but I like asking questions like this to clarify info...

I do have another unrelated question.  Is there any way to build a query joining for example, Constituent information with Fund information, but in the same query?

    Thanks

    Alex
