Importing an excel file to create a new gift batch for processing

Options
Hi folks

I'm trying to import details gathered by a third party telemarketing company directly into a gift batch so that I can process the credit card donations and then commit the gifts.

Is there any way to do this?

I'm aware this question was asked last year, but wondering if there has been a change since then. (see https://community.blackbaud.com/forums/viewtopic/157/30521?post_id=111837 )

Otherwise, it looks like I'm going to have to do a copy and paste effort, which can take a while, especially as we increase our telemarketing activities.

Thanks in advance.

I was going to ask if these donors had records in RE already and if you had their ID's - but then as question sounded familiar I see I asked the same questions in the post you referenced.  I'm not aware of any changes.  You can copy and paste or try a gift import but sounds like you need them in a batch to process cards (which I'm surprised a third party can just send you card info.)

    Best wishes.

Yes, I have the ConsIDs on the file and hence in RE already. We have a secure server for transferring card details.

Thanks for your reply - I had hoped for something new in this area!

  • Try Zeidman Development's Importacular.  It's free for Constituent and Gift Imports (it does them at the same time, which is really nifty) and creates a Batch when importing Gifts.  I've only played around with the Gift Imports and it could be that it won't import the cc info as you need it, but it's worth looking into (and contacting Zeidman if you can't get it to do what you need).  Actually, if it won't import the cc data, you could still use it, and then you just have to manually add that data to the Batch, rather than all of it.
