Splitting Multiple Constituency Values into One Column Per in Query/Export Results

Options
Hi all!

Can someone please remind me how to get multiple Constituency Code values for the same record to each show in an individual column in Query/Export results vs. mutliple rows? I think someone did a presentation on this at BBCON last year, but I can't remember...

Many thanks!

  • Use export from the eport module - do not export directly from query.

    Evan,

You group the records you want together with a query. Use that query in the Export function. Create a constituent export using records in your query.  In Export Output select constituency code and select how many/which ones you want to export. You will have one row for each record with multiple columns.

or if you are trying to export different codes (as opposed to one con code that is on a record multiple times) I'd recommend selecting Con Code multiple times in the export so you can assign a specific code to each column.

You do this by selecting Con Code and assigning the code you want to export to that column

Then click on the top of your export (typically the name of the export in the output tab) and select Con Code again - this should create an additional Con Code export column for you to assign a different Con Code value to.

This Knowledge Base article explains it much better than my rambling
