Batch Reports for Single Gifts

Options
Hi there,

I entered in a pledge as a single gift through the constituent record, however it did not ask me to commit any data nor did it pull up a batch report... Is there a way to commit the data and get a batch report for a single entered gift that is a pledge?

Does it being a pledge have something to do with it?

The gift is committed once you save it on the constituent record and there is no batch report since you did not enter the gift through batch.

But - if you want consistency with batches and reporting, then you would have to enter single gifts as batches.  There is nothing wrong with doing that.  I do it all the time during our "slow" times in the ebbs and flows of contribution "seasons" because it is better for reconciliation and auditing that every entry is tied to a batch and there is that trail.
  • I usually enter pledges by themselves on constituent records. We only use batches for cash gifts and pledge payments (money received). If you are needing a printed out paper trail, you can use a Gift Detail report and set gift type to Pledge, to generate a report with applicable information fields. We do this all the time for Write-offs if we need different fields than the Written-Off Reports can generate.
  • We do ALL gifts by batch as it is easier for us to load gifts to FE by batch number than anything else. We regularly have to do single gift batches as annoying as it is.
