What is the common practice for coding survey's on a record?  Is this done through the Attribute Tab or in Actions or somewhere else?

Thanks,

    Thanks,

    Doug,

I'd start by asking "What do I want to get out of RE?" and that should help determine how to put the data in.  I don't know that surveys are "common practice" for going into RE.

  • I have done it before as an action and action attributes for each question. To do it as constituent attributes would fill up the attributes too much IMHO. If however there is bio data collected I would also be sure that info also goes in the proper place in RE as well.

I've also used actions & action attributes as Melissa described. It works fine and doesn't clutter the record (but yes! be sure to double check that demographic info for bio updates!)

  • It depends what questions you are asking and why you are asking.  If it's a fundraising engagement strategy, we might not record the responses other than recording an appeal.  If it's for donor stewardship, we've added a response to the appeal so we know they responded, and update the appropriate sections of the database from solicit codes to the prospect tab to adding/updating attributes to a note -- whatever makes most sense for how the collected data will be used.
  • Thanks everyone!  Great guidance and advice, Much appreciated.
