Importing Address corrections in 7.95 without losing phone numbers

Has anyone imported address corrections from a mail house to Raiser's Edge without losing the phone numbers on the record? The supervisor wants us to keep the old address as former address but have the phone numbers appear with the new address. Anyone got any way to do this? We are on update 7.95.

    This is the primary reason for using AddressFinder instead of a third party - it is SOOO much easier to do this the way you want. 


    If that isn't an option i think it best to do the following:


    for those with address changes - ​import the old (current) addresses as "former address" and not preferred to give you the historical address as a copy.

    then import OVER the existing current preferred address which will not only keep the phone numbers but also keep any address links to other records (spouses, etc.)


    There will be multiple steps involved in getting this to work this way which may require some swift work in excel to prepare data files in such a way to make all of this work. I don't have time to detail it all out now but that would be the basics.
