whatever is written in reference on the pledge will be overwritten.  Or if it blank it will auto fill with installment info.  I have pledges that I have written a reference on, and in carries over into the reference on the payment/installment.  So not sure what exactly is being overwritten??  when you are batching and the reference is blank, you can replace or add to the installment info with more info.

Whether there was text in the Reference on the Pledge or not, when we opt to apply the gift to the pledge the Installment info populates the Reference field and we lose the initial Reference that had been entered.  We are RE 7.93 non-hosted.  I would love if there's a way we can keep our text!  =)

I have looked thru batch setup and Config and don't see where this is a setting.

  • I don't think there is a setting anywhere to change this.  However, there are a number of other first-class fields, as well as Attributes, where you can store data that does carry over to the pmt gifts.
