Multiple online grant recommendations fail to send an acknowledgement email for any

A few times now we have been notified by donors making an online grant request for grants to multiple organizations that they never receive an acknowledgement email confirming any of the recommendations after submitting. This now appears to be more of a trend, and not the user inserting the wrong email address or some thing similar, so I wanted to see if anyone else had this experience in BBNC?

    We're testing this on our own system right now, to see if somehow these emails are no longer coming out. We just recently went up to BBNC 7.0 but are still on BBNC for Foundations version 6.53.2.0. I'll report out what we find.


    Here's some info I recorded previously around these 'Saved Grant' acknowledgements - last I knew individual emails would be kicked out (instead of the single one that used to come out before).  Also, since the donor is logged in it would be using the email on their RE record to send to, right?
    • When we set up our Saved Grants page and part (back in 2009), when someone saved and then submitted multiple grants using the Saved Grants part, it kicked out an email acknowledgement that had to be somewhat 'generic' because it wouldn't be able to list info on each individual grant submitted.
    • We just discovered that now (we're now on BBNC 6.58.806.6) the system produces individual emails for each transaction submitted.  That's much better because you can now include detailed information on the grant on the acknowledgement.
    • We had to adjust the email acknowledgement format to include the merge fields we want, and it works wonderfully now!  Have no idea when this functionality changed, but we'll take it!

  • Kristin - From what I understand, a lot of foundations chose to NOT implement this Saved Grants part since it's somewhat confusing and can be problematic.  So there are only a handful of us that actually use it. I'll give you an update on what I find from our testing shortly ....
