Query help

We run a daily gift query and send out to VP and Directors each day.  ON this query output i have name, gift amount, fund if, first gift date total giving, we have just sent out a mailing with a certain appeal code and my VP wants to see the donors last gift date but when i add that to the out put it will show the gift they just gave on that date, i need it to show the last gift before the current gift, does any one know how to accomplish this?

  • I have to do the same thing.  I run a gift detail report and save it as a query, then go to export  and select the query.  Then you can select all the fields you need for the report.  Please feel free to contact me if you need help setting up the export.  Once you create the initial report and query, all you have to do is change the gift dates in both and run.

    Michele,

I would not use a query for this I would use an export because then when you select Last Gift you can give it a date range so last gift before X date

I'm assuming what you are sending your VP and Directors now is an Export of the Query (i.e. an Excel document) so doing your output via an Export should not make a difference to them and things will be more accurate

Also, when using export on Gift, Last Gift, First Gift or Summary Gifts. you also have the options to lock the output down to only show some, all or only one Campaign, Appeal or Fund. In this instance you could include all gifts except for those in the specific Appeal that you want to exclude.
