Recurring Gift Updates

Options
Is it possible for donors to self-edit their recurring gift amount, credit card number/expiration date, or EFT information in NetCommunity?

  • I don't think they have access to the original record, BUT if they fill the form out again, they can enter those new changes.

I don't think the "Profile Update" form covers anything that isn't in the Bio tabs.  Then you can deactivate the old "Recurring Gift" and work from the newer one.  :)

Thanks, Joy.  That makes sense, and that seems like the only work around.

I've drafted language we will use on NetCommunity when we launch our recurring giving campaign in October:

To update your recurring gift amount, please set up a new recurring gift under “Make a Gift.”  The update will take effect in 1-2 days.

For all other changes, email or call us

My 2 cents: It's very disappointing that donors cannot be "in the driver's seat" and manage their giving by themselves.  The extra steps to re-enter a recurring gift for a new amount or to email or call us otherwise make it more difficult and less likely that a donor will increase his or her gift amount over time.  Especially disappointing since this was raised as an issue in the Blackbaud Community in 2013.
