Accessing Emails After Being Sent

Options
We're new to using NetCommunity's email function, and I can't figure out how to access and forward an email once it's been sent. Furthermore, it would be great to not have to copy and create new versions of the same email if I'm just needing to forward to one or two people after the fact. I see that you can view properties and reports on the email, but no way to send out again, unless I'm missing something.

Seeing who's clicking on the links would be great too!

  • Hi Jennifer,

I've been using BBNC email since 2008 and have yet to find a way to send an email from previously sent version other than, as you already mentioned, copying & creating a new version. MailChimp and several other email marketing systems have the same method/process as BBNC. I believe this is to ensure the same email isn't sent to the exact same group of folks twice. If someone has found a workaround, I'd love to hear about it as well!

Word on the street is that some great things are on the way for BBNC email, but right now there's not link tracking native to BBNC (not sure if that's a coming feature or not) but you can use UTM tracking and Google Analytics to get more user info for links.

Hope that helps & I'm going to follow to see if anyone has another method for forwarding emails.

I belive another reason that emails can't be forwarded has to do with the tracking statistics (opens, conversions, etc.) - that info is tied to each email, which is why I've thought they require you to copy and re-create a new message vs. resending.

  • Ah I see, that makes sense. Thanks Anne. It's more for internal purposes I suppose, and not wanting to clog up our list of sent emails.

Thanks for your feedback Rebecca, I'll have to look into UTM tracking.

    Hi all,

After being asked several times by coworkers to "just forward that email to me" after I'd already sent it out, I added a new step to my process when I was creating them:

Right before I'm ready to send the final email I enter my email address into the "Test emails" box and click "Send test"

This sends me a copy of the email, which I save in a folder in my email client. :)

Note: Test emails contain empty merge fields (if you use them) but it's been handy to have when I've been asked to send it to anyone afterwards. It's not the ideal solution, but I hope it helps in the meantime!

  • I have started adding myself plus the email requestor and our CEO to all queries when sending the emails out. That way it is the final email with the merge fields included.
