Batch entry with action items

Options
Is it possible to enter a batch of constitutents and assign a mass action item to them? I'm new to the system.

  • Oh yes definitely you can, if you have the right security levels.  Just enable the checkbox for "Create Query of Committed Constituents" on your Commit Options screen.  Now you have a Query of those specific constituents - I am sure you noticed that Constituent Batches "clear out" after you commit them!

If you don't have access to the Admin panel, you may need a colleague - you go into Admin, then Global Add an Action.  Then you select the Query!  As long as all the Actions are identical, this is the best way to do this task.  If you have different Actions (Invited vs RSVP-Yes vs RSVP-No vs Sending Donation in Lieu of Attendance) then you need to set up a series of queries and apply global actions to them, or hop into records and do it manually if it's less than 20 records :)

    Thank you so much!

  • Are they already in your system?  Do you have them on a list somewhere with their constituent id's?  If so, you can do this very easily by grouping these constituents in a query.  If you are using a spreadsheet and that data has the constituent id you can copy the ID into the constituent id field in query (up to 500 at one time).  Then you easily have them in a group.  Then you can globally add whatever information you like.

If they are new constituents, then batch is a great way.
