Export to non-local/remote desktop

Options
Hi, I'm hoping some one may have figured out a work-around to this problem.  Our RE is hosted and one of our users accidentally exported, edited, and saved a word document to the non-local desktop instead of an accessible shared drive or  local folder.  We can see the folder (and the document) when we try and export/save another document but can't figure out if there is any other way to open it.  Any suggestions?  The location highlighted on the "saved merged document" window is the black hole the files are in.

I've tried everything I can think of, including:
  • dragging the file anywhere else - other folders, my desktop, etc.
  • checking in our site's files folder
  • creating another word document and then trying to find it through office's "open" feature
  • creating a shortcut within the folder and dropping the file there

  • This Knowledgebase article should help! "How to set up and access the Blackbaud Hosting Services Files folder" https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/40048. If you ever need to transfer a large number of files, it's much faster to use FileZilla, and instructions are here: https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/54774.

Edited to add: I just realized that you said you already checked your site's files folder, and I have no idea why that wouldn't work!
  • If you can re-export the data to where you want it saved, you can then get back to this folder by exporting another document, select it from that Save window, and delete it with the [Delete] button on your keyboard.  If the goal is to remove it so it's not sitting out there somewhere.

But you said your User edited it...how did that person locate the file to edit it?
  • We ended up downloading BitKinex to access the Hosted Remote Files Folder as it was just too much trouble to deal with errors because of different workstations, browser settings, etc.
