Naming recognition for programs

Options
Does anyone provide naming recognition for programs vs brick and mortar. We are considering gifts to provide programs support that are not endowments and wondering if others do this and if yes do you provide any time of naming recognition.

  • We do.  At the Children's Museum we have a daily program for kids to get exercise that is sponsored by UnitedHealth Group.  It's called "United in Big, Healthy Fun."

We do, too.  Our annual donor campaign is not brick and mortar.  We list those donors and grants/gifts from foundations and civic organizations for programs.
  • I should clarify I meant to ask if naming a program for a gift do you provide a physical naming opportunity like a plaque also. I am talking about a major gift like $100,000+
  • I've done this at a children's museum and a library. We have used signage in the areas where the program is held. We also had a series of speakers that was sponsored by a donor that we recognized in the event calendar and during speaker introductions at the event as well as signage. What you do really depends on what works for your organization.
  • We do this and provide signage as a benefit to the naming opportunity. We also put their logo on our webpage and provide advertising on Facebook and Twitter. All this adds up to form a part of the sponsorship package. Doesn't physically cost us much of course but the advertising alone is worth a lot to the sponsor.
