Gremlins are changing things at night!

Options
Does anybody else feel like that?  This morning I was using Quick Search by just hitting the binoculars, and on the pop-up screen it said that my Search using query was "default".  But I normally have a custom query in there!  So I closed that screen, clicked on the binoculars again and my custon query is there!

What the heck?!

  • AND, when searching for individual relationships the same pop up box changed search queries and some of the check boxes at the bottom are different than what I normally have checked!
  • Katherine - Yes this happens to me all the time, things seem to reset and I have never figured out why. Now I by habit check all the checkboxes at the bottom and I know immediately if my custom search query isn't coming up (because it's so different than the default one).  I believe the User Guide says it will stick but it doesn't seem to.
  • I know that some personal configuration details aren't stored in the RE database, but are stored in the computer's Windows registry (things like column widths on the Gift tab, etc.). If you log in from different computers and your org isn't configured for "roaming profiles" then that configuration information won't follow you from computer to computer.  I don't have (or know of) an exhaustive list of which options get stored where or how that might be affected by BB hosting (I only work with, but it's one explanation for why some things may mysteriously change, although I'm completely stumped about why it might changed even during a single login.

Katherine,  Had to laugh in agreement when I read your post.  Yes, yes and yes I believe there are gremlins.  I had three strange things one day about a month ago.  One of them was a relationship attribute added as a field to my gift batch template.  We don't even have anything entered in that field and I'm the only one who uses the batch.  My default search query changed too.
