Can I change secondary registrations to donations in a TeamRaiser event?

It is not possible to delete the secondary registrations without deleting the primary registration.  The registrations are all tied to one transaction and the system architecture won't allow separating them.  There are two options.  You can:

1. Delete the registrations and have the client re-register.

2. Do a Convio-only partial refund for the primary registrant and then manually add the two donations for the secondary registrants as offline cash donations (remember to turn off the autoresponders before you do).  This will leave the secondary registrants as participants and will create a disparity in your reports.  But if you're in a pinch, it may be the best solution.  Here are the steps:

Turn off Autoresponders:

  1. Navigate to Fundraising | TeamRaiser.
  2. Find your TeamRaiser.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Click "9. Manage Autoresponders"
  5. Make sure that the "TeamRaiser Registration Partial Refund" and "Offline Gift Thank You" are set to "Do Not Send this Autoresponder"

Do a Convio-only partial refund:

  1. Navigate to Constituent360 | Constituents.
  2. Search for the primary registrant.
  3. View the profile.
  4. Click the Transactions tab.
  5. Find the registration to the TeamRaiser in the Transaction History section.
  6. Click Refund.
  7. In the "Refund Transaction" window that pops up, type in Refund Amount in the Partial Refund section AND select "No, the donor has already been reimbursed or will be reimbursed offline. Just record the refund in the Convio database." at the bottom of the window.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. Click Confirm.
  10. Click Done.

Add offline cash donations for the secondary registrant (if there are multiple secondary registranst, repeat the steps for each):

  1. Navigate to Constituent360 | Constituents.
  2. Do a search for your secondary registrant.
  3. View the profile.
  4. Click the Transactions tab.
  5. In the Gift Entry section, select the TeamRaiser and then click Go.
  6. Select the amount and fill in the relevant information.  Click Next.
  7. Switch payment type to "Cash" and fill in the relevant information.  Click Next.
  8. Click Process.

Turn Autoresponders back on:

  1. Navigate to Fundraising | TeamRaiser.
  2. Find your TeamRaiser.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Click "9. Manage Autoresponders"
  5. Revert the Version to Send for both the "TeamRaiser Registration Partial Refund" and "Offline Gift Thank You" to their orginal values.
