How to move or soft credit a TeamRaiser donation from one Event, Participant, or Team to another Event, Participant, or Team

Convio TeamRaiser clients sometimes get calls from frustrated donors or participants insisting that a donation was not credited to the correct TeamRaiser Participant, Event, or Team, and wish to have the transaction moved or soft credited.  In order to change who (or what) a gift is credited towards (and whose thermometer will go up), you can use the following steps to change the recipient of a TeamRaiser gift:

Changing Soft Credits

1. Log in to the admin site, navigate to Constituent 360 > Constituents.

2. Look up the DONOR and click the pencil icon to open their record

3. Locate the transactions tab on their record, and navigate to this section

4. Locate the transaction in question and look at the “source” column to see whose participation the gift is currently credited towards

5. Locate the “action” column and click “change soft credit”

6. A pop up will appear, allowing you to search for and select a TeamRaiser event,* team, or participant to credit the gift to.

*Note that you may not be able to soft credit a gift across events, if your events use different merchant accounts – in this case, call Convio Support.
